Rodrygo brace boosts Real Madrid in 3-0 win over Cadiz

Real Madrid maintained their unbeaten run in La Liga, claiming a vital win at Cadiz CF.

Los Blancos were expected to assert their dominance in this clash and two goals from Rodrygo and a Bellingham strike ensured that the visitors picked up all 3 points.

Sergio Gonzalez’s men showed good movement in the early minutes of the game at home, taking half-chances to get past Andriy Lunin. Los Merengues quickly responded in the 14th minute as Rodrygo scored a fantastic goal, curling the ball into the top right corner of the Cadiz net.

Cadiz relentlessly hunted for an equaliser as the likes of Roger Martin and Ruben Alcaraz kept pressure on the Madrid backline. Yet, some lightning reflex saves from Lunin ensured that the visitors left the first half with a duck.

The second half at the Nuevo Mirandilla brought in more action for Los Blancos as they kept stinging the Cadiz backline with some good attacking football. Rodrygo took no time to add his second goal, blasting a fierce shot past Ledesma.

Jude Bellingham wasn’t too far away from the scoresheet as he smoothly added a third goal for his side after being set up by a slick pass from Rodrygo. The Englishman now has 11 goals in 12 appearances in La Liga.

A worrying sign for Real Madrid was the sight of Luka Modric limping off the field, making way for Dani Ceballos. The Croatian looked to be in physical discomfort as he retreated back to the bench.
