The attacking volume that has been missing for most of the LaLiga season for Real Madrid came to the fore in their 2-1 win over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu in a match that ended up with a historic conclusion and impressive numbers from a team that was very determined not to allow Barcelona to celebrate early.
From the first minute, Carlo Ancelotti's side started the game with a lot of intensity and Endrick took advantage of his starting place with good movement in attack. But it was Mallorca who opened the scoring in the 10th minute, with Valjent receiving the ball inside the area and finishing left-footed with no chance for Courtois, his third LaLiga goal.

Even with the deficit, Real Madrid continued to press hard with high lines and plenty of dangerous shots, but goalkeeper Román pulled off a string of good saves from Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Endrick. During the first half, there were 13 shots in all and 64% possession for the home side.
During the second half, Real kept up the pressure and created many chances through Modric, with Mallorca no longer able to keep possession of the ball due to the opposition's pressure. In the 66th minute, Real Madrid's equalizer finally came after Mbappé broke free of his marker with a precise pass from Modric and finished into the right corner of the goal, reaching the 40-goal mark for the season.

After a lot of insistence and more spectacular saves from goalkeeper Román in the best performance of his professional career, and when many fans were already leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid found the breakthrough goal in the last move of the game. From a throw-in in the box with the defense scattered, young Jacobo Ramón, in his first professional game, took advantage and sent the ball into the back of the net.
Real Madrid at least made their fans proud
Real Madrid have a slim chance of winning LaLiga and a simple win against Espanyol would leave Barcelona with the title confirmed. At the very least, Carlo Ancelotti's team (still) seems to be showing that they will be bidding a dignified farewell to the title race.
