Arsenal have finally officially announced the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga after negotiations that lasted many months and finally had a positive outcome for the Gunners. However, Mikel Arteta's side have not disclosed the sums that have been invested in this signing, but reports have managed to investigate the costs and have come to the revelation that Arsenal have spent £5 million.

After an up-and-down spell at Chelsea, Kepa Arrizabalaga spent the last two seasons on loan at Real Madrid and Bournemouth respectively, but it was at the Premier League club that the goalkeeper officially came to the world's attention once again, having been instrumental in the campaign to avoid relegation.

However, it's worth noting that Kepa Arrizabalaga will need to prove his worth to Arsenal in training and in the opportunities he is likely to receive in cup games, as reports have also indicated that the Gunners' preference is to sign Joan García, 24, who made a name for himself with Espanyol but was eventually signed by Barcelona.

Kepa Arrizabalaga didn't concede a goal in nine of the 35 games he played for Bournemouth and had the sixth best defensive record in the entire 2024/25 Premier League. This was the main reason Arsenal opted for this goalkeeper in place of Neto, a Brazilian who will return to Bournemouth after being loaned out to the Gunners.

Despite leaving on a low note, Kepa Arrizabalaga's past at Chelsea shows him to be a winning goalkeeper in his career. After a spell at Athletic Club Bilbao, he arrived at the Blues in 2018, signing a seven-year contract in a deal worth €80 million, with the status of the world's most expensive goalkeeper. During his time at Chelsea, he won the Champions League, the Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup, becoming one of the greatest winners in the Blues' history.
