Barcelona won the 2024/25 LaLiga season with one of the best attacks in Europe, making a name for themselves with Raphinha's change of position in midfield to boost the individual talents of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski. However, Barça are considering a major addition to their attack for next season, with other options in mind.

The latest reports indicate that Barcelona are in active contact with Liverpool to close a deal to sign Luis Díaz, who is an ideal candidate to reinforce the attack of the reigning LaLiga champions. The Colombian's contract with the Reds expires in June 2027.

However, Liverpool are reportedly making it difficult for the Colombian, who has spent the last few months indicating that he wants to stay at the Premier League club, to leave. Even so, Barcelona are still exploring a transfer for the striker, intending to fulfill their mission of signing a defender and a full-back, as well as a striker.

Considering that Lewandowski will turn 37 during the month of August, Luis Díaz would arrive to prevent the Pole from playing the same number of games. In addition, the Colombian would be a perfect fit for Hansi Flick's style of play, having the ability to adapt to various roles and being more efficient than Lewandowski at marking without the ball.

Luis Díaz would also be a new benchmark of experience in a squad marked by the presence of very young players (with Lamine Yamal being the standout). The Colombian scored 17 goals in the current 2024/25 season, and the possibility of signing him without the same financial cost as the Marcus Rashford and Nico Williams deals would be ideal.

However, what will really determine Hansi Flick's ability to count on the presence of Luis Díaz next season is the financial issue, even with the cash reinforced by the high prizes obtained from sporting success and the return of the Camp Nou in 2025/26.
