His last renewal, in 2021, had his release clause tagged at €1 billion. The new deal keeps that figure undisclosed, but surely Barça does not want to leave room for any of their rivals to make a move.

"We have a great team, especially a very young one, that will be even better in the coming years. Great things are in store for Barça fans," stated the player. His words show him confident in the path the team is taking and in that which is being done.

"I'm very happy to renew with the club of my life, and I hope we bring a lot of joy to the fans this season," Gavi said.

His release clause was not officially disclosed, but the newspaper Sport reports that it remains at €1 billion. Barcelona considers the young star untouchable.

Barcelona bets on continuity

The contract renewals of Pedri and Gavi are a sure sign that this club believes in its rebuilding process, entrusting this generation to take them back to the summit.

The real challenge now is to consolidate around those players and keep working in the evolution of the team. Titles won over recent years were indicative of development, but it is still half a journey ahead. Barcelona are securing their future, being really strategic, and building a well-identified team.
