Bayern Munich had all the favoritism possible going into their Club World Cup opener against the worst technical team in the competition. However, few expected the Bavarians to record a spectacular 10-0 win in Cincinnati, taking no notice of their opponents and virtually securing their place in the last 16.

It's worth noting that Auckland City tried to set up a defensive system with six players forming a line and were positioned behind the midfield from the start. However, the New Zealand side's attempt to hold off the pressure only lasted five minutes, as Vicent Kompany's side needed two shots to start the victory.

Kingsley Coman opened the scoring and found it extremely easy to exchange passes with care and have chances from high up turned into goals. In the 18th minute, Sacha Boey scored the second, and Olise took advantage of a pass from the left two minutes later to make the score 3-0. Being very firm in his marking and not letting the opposition get past him, he scored the fourth goal in the 25th minute with Thomas Müllersendo to the applause of the entire stadium. Olise added to his tally before the break.

With the score at 6-0, Bayern Munich slowed down their pace during the second half, valuing possession more, but the departure of Kane and the entry of Musiala allowed intensity to take center stage once again. Musiala scored the seventh goal with an assist from Müller, and the midfielder scored again from the penalty spot shortly afterwards.

The eight goals weren't enough and Sergi Gnabry once again renewed Bayern Munich's intensity. Musiala once again made a decisive contribution, taking advantage of a defensive lapse and anticipating the goalkeeper's pass, breaking free in the box to complete his hat-trick. Finally, Gnabry fought for possession in the penalty area and allowed Müller to score.

With only two days to go, the Club World Cup ended up seeing the first 10-0 scoreline in all FIFA World Cups, an impressive result in Bayern's favor, but a very worrying one for future editions of the global tournament.
