Bournemouth have won three of their last four matches against Burnley, seeking three successive victories over the Clarets for the first time ever.
Bournemouth vs Burnley preview
After being involved in the game of the season so far on Monday night, can Bournemouth now claim an illusive victory? Last time out, the Cherries played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, a match that was remarkably only 1-0 after 40 minutes. Three goals in 12 minutes either side of the break from Antoine Semenyo, Evanilson and then Marcus Tavernier, the latter a stunning free-kick, seemingly had the away side set for a famous win. However, after Man United scored twice in 100 seconds, it was they who went 4-3 in front, only for substitute Eli Junior Kroupi to salvage a share of the spoils six minutes from time.

A truly breathless night, reminding all onlookers just why we love football, one that manager Andoni Iraola certainly enjoyed. Nevertheless, it was only a draw, meaning Bournemouth are now without a win in seven Premier League games, having been unbeaten in eight beforehand. With Brentford, Chelsea, Arsenal and then Tottenham the Cherries' next four opponents, Iraola will surely view this as a golden opportunity for his side to get back to winning ways.
As for Burnley, their need for points is even more desperate, kicking off six points adrift safety. A week ago, they too were involved in a high-scoring thriller, but one that yielded no points, defeated 3-2 by Fulham at Turf Moor. The Clarets' defending was, at best, erratic and kamikaze, meaning Lesley Ugochukwu and then Oliver Sonne towards the end were both on target in vain.

This condemned Burnley to a seventh successive Premier League defeat, their longest such sequence in the top-flight since the end of the 1894/95 season, in danger of breaking that 130 year old record here. With Everton visiting Turf Moor next Saturday, one feels if Scott Parker does not address this sequence now, the Burnley board may produce a not very festive sack. Back in October 2023, in his tenth Premier League game in charge, Iraola's first win as Bournemouth boss was a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Burnley, with the hosts firm favourites to claim a similar result here.

Bournemouth team news
Just five minutes into Monday's match, midfielder Tyler Adams suffered an medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee, which is set to keep him sidelined for a few weeks at least.

Meantime, Veljko Milosavljević, Ben Gannon-Doak and Ryan Christie are also sidelined, so Alex Scott is set to come into midfield, alongside Marcus Tavernier. Álex Jiménez and Antoine Semenyo would both sit out next Saturday's trip to Brentford if booked.
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Burnley: (4-3-3): Petrović, Jiménez, Diakité, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Tavernier, Semenyo, Brooks, Kluivert; Evanilson.
Bournemouth player to watch vs Burnley
Ghana's failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations is great news for Bournemouth as it means they get to keep Antoine Semenyo. After he ended his seven match scoring draught at Old Trafford, can Semenyo score in a third consecutive Premier League match against Burnley?
Burnley team news
Axel Tuanzebe, Hannibal Mejbri and Lyle Foster have all departed for AFCON, while Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer and Bashir Humphreys remain sidelined.
In better news for Scott Parker, Kyle Walker can return, having served his one-match suspension against Fulham.

In attack, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Armando Broja and Foster, who is not available this time, was the chosen front three last weekend, after Loum Tchaouna, Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming had been Parker's preferred forward line earlier in the campaign, so what will Parker go for this time?
Burnley predicted lineup vs Bournemouth: (4-5-1): Dúbravka; Walker, Estève, Ekdal, Hartman; Cullen, Ugochukwu, Florentino Luís, Tchaouna, Anthony; Flemming.
Burnley player to watch vs Bournemouth
Zian Flemming has scored in four consecutive Premier League away games, netting five times across these matches, so can he keep that streak going in Dorset?
Bournemouth vs Burnley prediction
We are confidently backing Bournemouth to win this one, likely to prove simply too strong for a limited Burnley team, even if both are enduring seven match winless runs: Bournemouth 2-0 Burnley.
