Since the Club World Cup, FC Porto has shown how Samu Aghehowa is one of the most promising young talents in world football, as the Spanish striker stood out in the group stage despite the team's poor campaign. The Spanish striker's excellent start to the season is prompting Chelsea to step up their efforts behind the scenes, preparing a substantial offer of over €100 million for next summer.

Spanish media reports suggest that Chelsea are keen to strengthen their attack ahead of next year's transfer window, and Aghehowa has emerged as a key target. The London club, winner of the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Clubs World Cup in 2024/25, is closely monitoring the young striker and would be willing to invest a record amount to sign him, overcoming any competition.

Samu is one of the biggest surprises in soccer in recent years

Aghehowa has taken a huge leap forward in his career since transferring from Atlético Madrid to FC Porto, having previously been loaned to Deportivo Alavés in the 2023/24 season and winning a gold medal with the Spanish national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In his first full season at Porto, he shone, and in the 2025/26 campaign he scored eight goals in just nine games in all competitions. This high performance caught the attention of several top clubs, with Chelsea among the main interested.

Although Chelsea has recently strengthened its offense and made important signings such as Liam Delap and João Pedro, the Blues remain interested in at least one more major signing and are therefore willing to invest in Aghehowa as a high-impact option in the medium/long term.

Porto's board, for its part, would be reluctant to part with its star player, but an offer in the region of €100 million or more could make the deal irresistible. That is precisely why it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds for the striker and what his decision will be: whether to stay at Porto or take the biggest leap of his career by moving to the Premier League.
