Chelsea vs PSG. Two iconic European clubs. The FIFA Club World Cup final kicks off at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey - which will also be the location of the World Cup final in 2026. PSG, coming off a triumphant season winning the 2025 Champions League, are the clear favorites to win.

Chelsea Starting Off Strong

Chelsea are in control in the opening five minutes of the game, having a majority of the chances and possession. The Blues are not to underestimated against the current European champions. Cole Palmer goes for the long shot and just barely misses the goal! Chelsea were so close to getting their goal.

The game opens up more for PSG after fifteen minutes. Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez makes a great save in the 17th minute. Cole Palmer finally nets it home in the 22nd minute with a cutback move from Malo Gusto setting up the goal. In the 29th minute, he gets his brace. No one saw this coming!

Three Cards, Three Goals

Pedro Neto and Moises Caicedo go into the book for Chelsea with yellow cards. Possession has gone back and forth between the two teams, with PSG maintaining most of it. Still, Chelsea appear locked in. Malo Gusto gets his name taken into the book after a tactically necessary foul, stopping PSG from counter attacking. Joao Pedro makes it three! The newest signing for Chelsea goes 1v1 with the goalkeeper and gets his third goal of the tournament. Cole Palmer gets an assist to add to his two goals. Incredible.

Bad News for Chelsea

PSG start the second half with many more chances than the first, but missing them. Sanchez has been rock solid for the Blues tonight. Unfortunately, Enzo Fernandez goes down after a bad tackle. He has to be subbed out, and is replaced by Andrey Santos. Heartbreaking for the Argentinian midfielder. Just before the cooling break, Reece James also goes down with some discomfort. After a few more tackles, he goes to ground again. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall comes in to replace the captain.

Chippy

The game has been getting more and more intense. With less than ten minutes to go, PSG are getting very chippy, fouling Chelsea players left and right. The 83rd minute sees Joao Neves get a yellow card for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair. This gets upgraded to a red card and he's sent off. Nuno Mendes gets a yellow in stoppage time after a horrible tackle on Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea, the underdogs going into this match, have done the impossible. The Blues crush PSG to win the Club World Cup trophy.
