Fulham won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge back on Boxing Day, there first victory there since 1979, having lost 13 of 21 away games against Chelsea in the intervening years.

Chelsea vs Fulham preview

After an emphatic victory last time out, can Chelsea start to build some serious momentum? Last Friday night, despite actually falling behind earlier, Enzo Maresca's side roared back to demolish and admittedly hopeless West Ham United side 5-1 at the London Stadium. João Pedro, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernández all on target in the first half, before Moisés Caicedo and then Trevoh Chalobah struck within four minutes of each-other to make the points secure prior to the hour mark.

This was a much-needed scoring spree from the Blues, considering they'd been held to an underwhelming goalless draw by Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend. Now though, given how well they played last week, Chelsea have to be favourites to win this one.

Fulham though are yet to taste defeat this season, and they intend to keep it that way. In both matches so far, Marco Silva's side have fallen behind but earned a 1-1 draw, firstly thanks to Rodrigo Muniz's 96th minute equaliser at Brighton. Then, last Sunday, little over 90 seconds after being introduced as a substitute, Emile Smith Rowe poked home an equaliser against Manchester United.

Unlike their cross-Borough rivals, Fulham were in EFL Cup action this week, easily ousting Bristol City at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, thanks to an early own goal, before Raúl Jiménez rubber stamped a 2-0 victory soon after. As already alluded to, the Whites won at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 45 years back in December, and their supporters would love nothing more than to repeat the feat.

Chelsea team news

The headline team news ahead of Chelsea's annihilation of West Ham was the fact that Cole Palmer picked up an injury in the warm-up, spending the rest of the evening looking rather glum on the bench, while his teammates had a lot of fun. It's not yet known if he'll be available for this fixture.

If he isn't ready to go, Estêvão Willian will once again be the beneficiary, after an impressive display in East London. Interestingly, even before Palmer's withdrawal, Enzo Maresca decided to start both João Pedro and Liam Delap together, so will he stick with this old-fashioned strike partnership?

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Fulham: (4-3-3): Sánchez; James, Adarabioyo, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernández, Estêvão, João Pedro, Neto; Delap.

Chelsea player to watch vs Fulham

João Pedro headed home his first Premier League goal for Chelsea last Friday, so will he net against Fulham, as he did during his most-recent meeting with them in March, this a 98th minute penalty to snatch a 2-1 victory for Brighton?

Fulham team news

Marco Silva heavily rotated against Bristol City, Ryan Sessegnon and Timothy Castagne the only players to keep their place, so will he revert completely back to last Sunday's lineup?

Teenager Josh King has started both Premier League matches so far but, having bagged the equaliser against Manchester United, Emile Smith Rowe will be hoping he's done enough to come into the XI this time. Lastly, Antonee Robinson came off the bench last weekend, back sooner than anticipated following knee surgery in May, so will he be ready to start this West London derby?

Fulham predicted lineup vs Chelsea: (4-3-3): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukić, Castagne, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz.

Fulham player to watch vs Chelsea

After Raúl Jiménez scored in the EFL Cup, both Fulham strikers now have a goal apiece to their name this season, so who will lead the line, with Rodrigo Muniz very much hoping to do so, after his stoppage time winner at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day?

Chelsea vs Fulham prediction

This Saturday early kick off will certainly be competitive, but we are backing Chelsea for victory, likely to have simply too much attacking quality for their West London neighbours: Chelsea 2-0 Fulham.
