Everton are seeking back-to-back victories over Fulham for the first time in seven years, while the Cottagers remained unbeaten across their final five visits to Goodison, their most-recent defeat against the Toffees on Merseyside coming in 2018, when Marco Silva was in the opposite dugout.

Everton vs Fulham preview

These two sides are both a little bit closer to the relegation zone than they would like, so can either claim three important points on Merseyside? On Monday night, Everton battled to earn a draw with high-flying Sunderland, taking the lead through Iliman Ndiaye at the Stadium of Light, only to concede shortly after half time on Wearside. This is a respectable point for David Moyes' men, but it does mean they've now won just one of their last seven, only beating Crystal Palace since August.

During this run, a fortnight ago, Everton tasted defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the very first time, beaten 3-0 by Tottenham on a miserable afternoon on Merseyside. So now, can the Toffees claim an important win at Bramley-Moore Dock, thereby silencing some of the disgruntled Evertonians?

Fulham meantime kick off actually one point and one place below their hosts. The Cottagers had suffered four successive Premier League defeats, before getting back to winning ways last weekend, swatting aside bottom of the table Wolves 3-0 in West London. Ryan Sessegnon broke the deadlock, Wolves were then reduced to ten men, with Harry Wilson's strike followed by an own goal securing the points at Craven Cottage.

All three victories Marco Silva's side have enjoyed this season have come on the banks of the River Thames, losing four consecutive Premier League away games, their sole point coming at Brighton on the opening day, when Rodrigo Muniz snatched a 96th minute equaliser. As already outlined, Fulham boast an excellent recent record at Goodison, so can they win their first visit to Bramley-Moore Dock?

Everton team news

David Moyes' starting lineup is one of the most settled in the Premier League, with Michael Keane and Jake O'Brien continuing in defence given that Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson remain sidelined.

The only spot up for grabs is in attack. Beto has started seven Premier League games with Thierno Barry doing so in the other three, including Monday night, so who knows who will get the nod here. James Garner would miss the trip to Old Trafford later this month if booked here.

Everton predicted lineup vs Fulham: (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye, Grealish; Beto.

Everton player to watch vs Fulham

Jack Grealish was the match-winner during Everton's sole victory since August, scoring for Aston Villa at Craven Cottage in both 2017 and 2020, so can he repeat that feat on Merseyside?

Fulham team news

American international Antonee Robinson is still nursing a knee injury, so last weekend's opening scorer Ryan Sessegnon will keep his place at left-back.

In attack, Rodrigo Muniz came off the bench for his first appearance since 23 September following a muscle injury last weekend, so could he displace Raúl Jiménez in attack? Lastly, Saša Lukić has to be careful because a caution would see him miss the clash with Sunderland in a fortnight.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Everton: (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukić, King, Wilson, Iwobi; Jiménez.

Fulham player to watch vs Everton

Alex Iwobi scored just nine goals in 140 appearances for Everton, but has netted 12 times in only 89 outings for Fulham. The Nigerian twice netted against the Toffees at Goodison, so can he silence the Hill Dickinson Stadium crowd on Saturday?

Everton vs Fulham prediction

These two teams kick off just one point apart, and we're forecasting that will still be the case come full time on Merseyside, albeit this one could very much go either-way: Everton 1-1 Fulham.
