What happened at Fulham last season?

Since being promoted as Championship champions in 2022, Fulham have now finished tenth, 13th and 11th, so will this campaign produce more of the same? Last year, despite ending up in the bottom half, Marco Silva's side were very much in the race for European qualification until the final few games.

The Cottagers' undisputed highlight was winning down the road at Stamford Bridge against neighbours Chelsea on Boxing Day, doing so for the first time since 1979, also defeating Brentford 2-1 at home on a dramatic Monday night, with Harry Wilson scoring in the 92nd minute and the 97th.

From 14 January onwards however, the Whites won eight and lost ten of their 18 outings, underlining how they struggled for consistency. Nevertheless, last year's haul of 54 points was actually Fulham's best-ever in the top division, so bettering it that will be tough, but that has to be the target.

How will Fulham do this season?

As already alluded to, we're expecting another comfortable if unspectacular mid-table season from Fulham. No new signings of note to report, with Benjamin Lecomte the new back-up goalkeeper, but the Cottagers have been able to keep hold of their stars, including Antonee Robinson, hoping that remains true when the window slams shut on 1 September.

Thus, this may not be overly exciting, but we're forecasting Fulham to be neither in a relegation battle nor serious contenders for European qualification.
