An arrival in 2022 after a transfer from Borussia Dortmund for €60 million, Haaland is one of the standout players since his arrival to City, an important piece of attack, breaking records and amassing titles. The impressive run is 111 goals in 126 matches with already five trophies with the blue jersey: two Premier Leagues, one Champions League, one FA Cup, and one Super Cup.

A unique and unexpected moment

Haaland couldn't hide his happiness with the new contract inked and expressed his gratitude to the club. "I'm very happy to have signed my new contract and to spend even more time at this great club. I want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the club because they've helped me a lot over the last few years. I want to keep improving, working to get better, and doing my best to help us achieve even more success," said the forward.

The 2022/2023 season was a milestone for Haaland and Manchester City. He scored 52 goals across all competitions, breaking the record for most goals in a single Premier League season with 36. "Everyone talked about the Champions League, and then to do it in the first season… you can't ask for more," the Norwegian said about winning the Treble. He referred to this season as the most special in his career, saying that the moments and celebrations with the club and fans are unforgettable.

So, 10 years at City means Haaland says that the parade celebrating the Treble was one of the most incredible moments. “I still remember the rainy parade – this is perhaps the biggest and best moment because it was such a typical Manchester parade,” he recalled. For him, these two and a half years at the club have been like a dream, and he is looking forward to what lies ahead. “I’ll remind everyone around me never to forget that moment because it really is a great moment,” he said.

Another important moment is the relationship between Haaland and the fans of the team. The forward said the support of the fans meant everything in his journey so far. He told them how much they had been a part of his achievements and promised to keep giving his best in order to bring more unforgettable moments for the club. “It has been incredible, and these two and a half years have been like a dream. I’m really looking forward to what comes next and the future,” he said.

At 23, with a contract that could see him stay at City until he is 34, Haaland has the opportunity to build one of those very rare legacies in soccer. His renewal is an important step that guarantees not only the present but also a promising future for Manchester City.
