Lamine Yamal scored Barcelona's third goal of the evening in the El Clasico victory over Real Madrid. However, during the celebration, video taken from the stands captures a Real Madrid supporter hurling racist abuse at the 17-year-old.

A different angle shows another fan hurling more abuse at Lamal.

Whether or not Yamal heard it only he knows as he continued on and didn't seem to aler the referee or the linesman. The linesman who was right there as well didn't alert the referee either.

This latest incident of racism in Spain comes at a time where Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior has also been the subject of similar abuse. This time, however, it may be higher profile since it came in El Clasico and from Real Madrid supporters.

To their credit, Real Madrid issued a statement regarding the scenes at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Real Madrid strongly condemns any kind of behavior involving racism, xenophobia or violence in football and sport, and deeply regrets the insults that a few fans uttered last night in one of the corners of the stadium.

Real Madrid has opened an investigation in order to locate and identify the perpetrators of these deplorable and despicable insults so that the appropriate disciplinary and judicial measures can be taken."

The Spanish government has also condemned what they called the "incidents of a racist character" and said they will be analyzed by their anti-violence commission.

LaLiga put out a similar statement and it will be interesting to see what action is taken, if anything. Even when it came to Vinicius Junior, the league's response was lukewarm at best. It didn't help matters that there were some who tried to downplay it.

While both of these incidents are reprehensible, what is more dumbfounding is this latest incident has been aimed at a 17-year-old who only a few months played represented Spain at EURO 2024 and was one of the key figures in winning the competition.
