Belgium are unbeaten in 42 European qualifiers, winning 36 of them, their most-recent defeat coming in Cardiff in June 2015.
Liechtenstein have only ever won seven of 151 Euros or World Cup qualification fixtures, their most-recent victory coming against Moldova in Chișinău in November 2014.
Liechtenstein vs Belgium preview
After an unconvincing start to World Cup qualification in June, Belgium will surely cruise to victory in Vaduz on Thursday. First, the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by North Macedonia in Skopje, taking the lead through Maxim De Cuyper, only to concede four minutes from time. Three days later, Rudi Garcia's side raced into a 3-0 lead inside half an hour against Wales in Brussels, Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans and Jérémy Doku the scorers, only to completely collapse, with the Welsh equalising 20 minutes from time. Nevertheless, the Red Devils did get away with it, snatching victory right at the death, courtesy of Kevin De Bruyne's back post volley on a dramatic night at Stade Roi Baudouin.
It's been a turbulent 12 months or so for Belgium, first really underwhelming at last summer's European Championships, dumped out by France in the round of 16. Then, following a very mediocre Nations League campaign, Domenico Tedesco was sacked in November, replaced by Garcia. Thus, the Red Devils have won only four of 14 competitive matches since the start of last year, so are not in the best form, although they're expected to cruise to victory in this one.

That's because hosts Liechtenstein are the archetypal international football minnows. Konrad Fünfstück's side have lost all three matches they've played in this qualification campaign so far, beaten 3-0 by North Macedonia and 2-0 by Kazakhstan at home, before a 3-0 loss in Cardiff in June.
Last year too, the Blue-Reds were defeated both home and away by San Marino in Nations League D, so are now winless in 36 competitive fixtures, losing 31 of them, their most-recent victory coming against San Marino almost exactly five years ago. Thus, it is simply a question of how many goals will Belgium score at Rheinpark Stadion?

Liechtenstein team news
Goalkeeper Benjamin Büchel should be prepared for a busy evening, on the occasions of his 75th cap, having conceded 162 international goals to date, enjoying just 12 clean sheets.

Liechtenstein predicted lineup vs Belgium: (5-3-2): Büchel; Kindle, Wieser, Hofer, Traber, Göppel; Sele, Lüchinger, Hasler; Salanović, Luque Notaro.
Liechtenstein player to watch vs Belgium
The top scorer in this squad is captain Nicolas Hasler, who has seven international goals to his name. The man who made 48 MLS appearances for three different clubs was the match-winner against Hong Kong 11 months ago, so could he score a rather more famous goal here?
Belgium team news
Rudi Garcia travels to Vaduz without Belgium's all-time record goalscorer Romelu Lukaku due to injury, while Amadou Onana is also sidelined.

In goal, Thibaut Courtois has made just one international appearance since June 2023 due to injury and then a falling out with the previous head coach, but could be donning the gloves here, displacing Matz Sels. In the absence of the aforementioned Lukaku, Loïs Openda is set to lead the line, while Michy Batshuayi has been recalled, hoping to win his first cap since March 2024.
Belgium predicted lineup vs Liechtenstein: (4-3-3): Courtois; Castagne, Debast, Theate, De Cuyper; Tielemans, Raskin, De Bruyne; Doku, Openda, Trossard.
Belgium player to watch vs Liechtenstein
Kevin De Bruyne was the match-winner last time out, his 31st international goal, which have been scored against 19 different opponents, so will he add Liechtenstein to this list in Vaduz?
Liechtenstein vs Belgium prediction
We fully expect Belgium to run riot at Rheinpark Stadion, as so many teams have done previously. They've recently scored nine against Gibraltar in 2017 and San Marino in 2019, so could the Red Devils produce something similar on Thursday night?: Liechtenstein 0-6 Belgium.
