Many might have been ignoring a game that was theoretically empty due to the early definition of the title race, but Liverpool and Arsenal put on a real show at Anfield with a great 2-2 draw, making it one of the best games in the Premier League this season.
Under Arne Slot, Liverpool tried to impose their attacking style from the start but ended up facing an Arsenal side that was extremely well structured tactically. That's why the goal didn't come until the 20th minute, when Robertson received a free-kick from Jones on the left wing and crossed to the far post where Gakpo found space behind Saliba and scored.
The Gunners felt the shock of conceding the goal and the Reds took advantage to get their second with less than a minute to go. Salah sent a cross straight to Szoboszlai and the Hungarian broke into the box from the right to find Luís Díaz, who got in front of Saliba and finished neatly.

Luís Díaz set up the next move and Curtis Jones almost equalized, but Raya saved well, and this was the last real danger in the first half due to the Gunners' defensive reorganization. In the other dangerous moves, Saka sent the ball over the crossbar and Odegaard shot past his marker.
In the second half, the Gunners managed to score their first goal just two minutes after the break. Trossard received Odegaard on the left wing and the Belgian cut into the middle to cross behind Konaté, where Martinelli's header was deflected into Alisson's corner.

Mikel Arteta's side went on the attack and almost equalized through an aerial ball where Saliba rose to test in the box, and five minutes later, the Gunners equalized. Odegaard received the ball from Saka on the edge of the box and his shot was stopped by a great save from Alisson, but the ball remained in the small area and Merino finished the move.
After Merino was sent off in the 80th minute, Liverpool stopped Arsenal's momentum and the winning goal came almost in stoppage time, when Mac Allister took a corner at the far post and Robertson scored after Raya had parried the initial attempt, but the referee spotted a foul by Konaté on Lewis-Skelly and awarded the goal.
Alexander-Arnold left Anfield to boos from Liverpool fans
Even though it was a great game, one of the most striking scenes during the match took place in the stands, when a lot of booing broke out the moment Alexander-Arnold was substituted. Certainly a very surprising scene considering the defender's history with the Reds.
