After breaking several positive records in a historic Premier League season, Liverpool now need to give the fans an answer after becoming the first championship club not to win any of their next three games since winning the title.

Everything pointed to the Reds losing to an extremely well-organized and very competitive Chelsea side in search of a place in the next Champions League. On the other hand, many fans were frustrated by the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, who pulled off an incredible 2-2 comeback in their quest for Europe.

Arne Slot is likely to opt to keep Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson out through physical exhaustion, as only two players are out through injury: Alexis Mac Allister is recovering from a groin problem, while fellow midfielder Tyler Morton has been recovering from a shoulder injury for months.

As mentioned earlier, Crystal Palace are also in a festive mood and will certainly have thousands of fans lining the streets after their title win over Manchester City at Wembley. Oliver Glasner's champions had to stop the party on Tuesday with the first team against Wolverhampton.

The 4-2 win shows that Crystal Palace will be very competitive against the Reds, with the Eagles looking to recall one of their four Premeier League wins against Liverpool at Anfield, leaving the visitors more confident of a positive result.

Adam Wharton will unfortunately miss the game due to a concussion suffered at the end of the FA Cup. Marc Guehi is also in doubt due to an unusual eye injury suffered at Wembley.
