Manchester United had won six successive meetings with Everton for the first time since 2004 prior to a 2-2 draw between the pair at Goodison in February. At Old Trafford, the Toffees have lost each of their last four, winless in 12 visits, claiming victory from only one of 33 trips since 1992, this in 2013.
Manchester United vs Everton preview
Can Manchester United continue their unbeaten streak? Last time out, 16 days ago now, the Red Devils trip to Tottenham had a dramatic conclusion, one not befitting a rather drab affair beforehand. Having led through Bryan Mbeumo's header, Benjamin Šeško's injured forced Man United to finish the match down to only ten-men, helping Spurs score not once but twice late on, seeming snatching victory. Nevertheless, right at the death, Matthijs de Ligt's towering back-post header saw the Red Devils, against the odds, pinch a point in North London.

This draw means Ruben Amorim's team are now unbeaten in five Premier League fixtures, enjoying wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton, before draws on the road at Nottingham Forest and now Spurs. Despite this, Manchester United start the weekend only eighth in the table, albeit it is very tight, so can they continue to build momentum with a Monday night home win?
As for Everton, they are actually only three points worse off than their hosts, despite generally mediocre form. Before the international break, David Moyes' team put in a dominant display, swatting aside Fulham 2-0 at Bramley-Moore Dock, with Idrissa Gana Gueye breaking the deadlock in first half stoppage time, before Michael Keane made the points secure late on.

Prior to this though, the Toffees had won only one of seven outings since August, seeing their unbeaten start to life at Hill Dickinson Stadium come to an end when Tottenham visited Merseyside. As a result, Everton are only five points clear of the relegation zone, while also just three points adrift the Champions League spots, so their campaign could very much go either-way. The Blues' only victory at Old Trafford in 33 years came when Moyes was in the home dugout; the Scotsman won only seven Premier League matches there as Man United manager, but has never won in 17 attempts as a visiting boss. That fact is unlikely to change, with a home win seemingly on the cards on Monday.

Manchester United team news
Striker Benjamin Šeško is set to spend a month on the sidelines due to a knee injury sustained at Tottenham. Meantime, Harry Maguire is a doubt, while Lisandro Martínez is not yet ready to feature for the first time since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in February.

Elsewhere, Noussair Mazraoui started against Spurs, doing so for the first time since the win over Chelsea on 20 September, so will he continue to get the nod over Diogo Dalot?
In attack, with Šeško sidelined, Amad is expected to complete the front three, although Mason Mount is an alternative that Rúben Amorim may well select. Lastly, Patrick Dorgu, who scored in vain for Denmark at Hampden last Tuesday, would sit out Sunday's visit to Selhurst if cautioned.
Manchester United predicted lineup vs Everton: (4-3-3): Lammens; Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Amad, Mbeumo, Cunha.
Manchester United player to watch vs Everton
Bryan Mbeumo headed home his sixth Manchester United goal at Spurs before the international break, although he has never netted in eight career meetings with Everton, the most he's faced any opponent without scoring in his career.
Everton team news
Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson remain sidelined, while Jake O'Brien is expected to return at right-back, after James Garner deputised in that positition against Fulham. Séamus Coleman is also an option, after his heroic displays during Ireland's historic victories over Portugal and Hungary.

In attack, fair to say neither Thierno Barry nor Beto have particularly impressed so far this season, making it impossible to predict who will start, but one will replace the other off the bench at some stage, probably around the hour mark. Lastly, the aforementioned Garner as well as Tim Iroegbunam would sit out Saturday's clash with Newcastle if booked.
Everton predicted lineup vs Manchester United: (4-3-3): Pickford; O'Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Gana Gueye, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye, Grealish; Beto.
Everton player to watch vs Manchester United
Iliman Ndiaye bagged his fourth Premier League goal of the season during Everton's most-recent away game at Sunderland, so can he add to his tally in another Monday night fixture?
Manchester United vs Everton prediction
We cannot see beyond a routine Manchester United victory on Monday night. The Red Devils are in great form, so should be too strong for a mediocre Everton side: Manchester United 2-0 Everton.
