Even with two years left on his contract, all indications are that Jack Grealish's time as a Manchester City player is over. The latest reports indicate that the player will not be part of the squad that will travel to the United States to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup, indicating that his stay is out of the question.

Grealish is one of the players who will be put up for sale next summer, and this comes after Pep Guardiola gave his last interview of the Premier League season, stating that the player would need to leave the Manchester team in order to return to regular first-team minutes.

As a result, the English midfielder was given permission to negotiate with other clubs and this decision was accompanied by his non-registration for the FIFA tournament. It is not yet known which teams will be interested in negotiating with Grealish, but Manchester City are due to travel to the USA next week to begin preparations to face Wydad FC on June 18.

When did Jack Grealish fail at Manchester City?

Jack Grealish aroused a lot of anticipation among Manchester City fans in 2021 when he was signed from Aston Villa for a record fee. With his extremely wide vision and strong tackling in midfield, Grealish played a key role in the 2022/23 season, when Pep Guardiola's side won three titles.

Since then, the midfielder has encountered heavy competition and a lack of regularity in his performances, causing him to lose Pep Guardiola's confidence and consequently his constant starting place over the last two seasons. It's worth noting that Grealish didn't take part in the decisive game of the season against Fulham, when the Citzens secured a place in the next Champions League.

Pep Guardiola was even asked at the time if Grealish was out only because of a physical issue, but the coach made a point of emphasizing that the decision had been 100% technical. In other words, indicating that time had come to an end.
