Manchester United left a good impression on their fans despite losing to Arsenal in the first round of the Premier League due to their physical and tactical imposition on one of the favorites to win the title, but the 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage created a feeling of strong concern for the rest of the season.

We had the best first half in the Premier League in 2024/25 in terms of great emotions and tactical organization from both teams. The Red Devils took the offensive initiative in search of a goal and prioritized every shot with Matheus Cunha. In the best of them, the Brazilian received a direct link from goalkeeper Bayindir and dominated beautifully in the rival area, putting the ball into the corner, forcing an epic save from goalkeeper Leno.

In the 35th minute, the VAR was activated and spotted a foul by Bassey on Mason Mount inside the box, resulting in a penalty in Manchester United's favor. However, striker Bruno Fernandes ended up overdoing it and the ball practically flew out of the stadium, in one of the worst and most embarrassing penalty kicks in recent years in the Premier League.

Manchester United couldn't hold on to the lead

After this clumsy moment and after the break, Fulham increased their attacking volume and put the Red Devils under pressure, with Anderson causing a lot of danger when he launched himself into the box and headed a ball that went out of play with great danger, but it was Manchester United who took the lead after a corner was taken from the right. Rodrigo Muniz rose to try and cut the ball out, but ended up deflecting it back against his own goal in a bizarre move.

The signs were that Ruben Amorim's side would be able to secure an away win, but Fulham came back minutes later to claim an important point for the rest of the season thanks to a veteran. Smith Rowe came off the bench to meet Iwobi's cross and, with a slight deflection, beat Bayindir to secure the equalizer.
