Manchester United begin their preparations for the 2025/26 Premier League season this weekend with a pre-season friendly against Leeds United at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, starting a run of five summer friendlies for the Red Devils.

Manchester United endured a season full of nightmares, finishing in 15th place with 42 points, their worst position since 1990 and their lowest number of points since relegation in the 1970s, as well as their final defeat in the Europa League against Tottenham.
Many signings were promised for Ruben Amorim, but only two reinforcements arrived for the season this summer: Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon. Meanwhile, Leeds United are starting a special pre-season to celebrate their return to the Premier League after two seasons in the Championship. Unlike the Red Devils, their season in 2024/25 was sensational with a spectacular campaign at the top of English soccer's second tier scoring 100 points.
Four new players have been signed: Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Lukas Nmecha. In addition, Jack Harrison is back after spending a few months at Everton. Daniel James, formerly of Manchester United, should play against the Red Devils, while Nmecha should come on in the second half
