Napoli took to the field at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium ready to write another beautiful chapter in their history in front of their home fans, and Antonio Conte's side left no room for disappointment and won 2-0 against Cagliari to claim the Serie A title. As a result, we won't have the long-awaited play-off to determine the champion.

But it has to be said that Napoli started the game with a certain amount of attacking pressure without the ball going in, despite several attempts and total occupation of the pitch. Cagliari didn't have any opportunities to threaten to score, but they were managing to pull off dangerous moves in the build-up.

The tension increased even more midway through the first half, when Inter Milan opened the scoring against Como, a result that was guaranteeing the title for Simone Inzaghi's side for many minutes, with a one-point lead considering the scoreline. But things changed right before half-time with an unforgettable goal.

In the 42nd minute, from another cross into the box, just when Napoli were beginning to show a lot of nervousness and anxiety about missing the goal, Scott McTominay received a cross from Politano and volleyed in a spectacular goal. The former Manchester United player caused a catharsis at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Napoli came back from the break betting more on their defensive strength, pushing their lines forward little and giving Cagliari more possession. However, it only took six minutes for Napoli to confirm their title with another emblematic scene: Lukaku used his speed from midfield, with a lot of physical strength, to leave Mina on the ground and beat the opposing goalkeeper to put the game away.

Inter Milan spent less than half of Serie A in the lead, but came very close to winning the title in the final rounds. But the division of attention with other competitions and the two consecutive defeats ended up leaving the need for a UEFA Champions League title greater, to avoid frustration at the lack of titles.
