While Milan sit eighth with 26 points and try to close the gap on the top six, Roma sit tenth with only 19 points and are still seeking their first away win of the season.

Milan faces challenges and seeks consistency

Milan enters the match high on confidence following their narrow victory over Verona, but consistency has become the buzzword within this squad. Rossoneri boss Paulo Fonseca was under no illusions but called for the team to keep calm and stable: "We've shown quality against tough opponents, but we need consistent attitude in every game."

Missing some key players, such as the ankle-injured Pulisic and the still-getting-back Rafael Leão, Fonseca will turn to the gradual return of Bennacer for some much-needed energy in midfield, although he is not ready yet for 90 minutes. Morata is available, while Theo Hernández is expected to be influential in transitions between defense and attack.

Fonseca spoke about Roma with respect, but underlined the three points that would be so important. "They are a big club, have good players, and a brilliant coach who has won a lot. Returning to Italy and facing them is special for me," he added, but did not fail to signal the challenges while remaining optimistic.

Roma look to surmount obstacles

Claudio Ranieri, Roma’s coach, highlighted the team’s fighting spirit and the importance of staying focused. “I’m lucky to have a group of magnificent players who are really committed and a club that’s always there to help me,” he said.

This victory by 5-0 against Parma, with the super contribution of Paulo Dybala, managed to revive the hope for the Giallorossi. Of course, their poor record away from home without a win yet this season remains a weight on the team. Ranieri did not hide the challenge: "We know Milan has quality, but I believe in the group and our ability to compete."

As for Bryan Cristante's absence, Ranieri defended the medical team from recent criticism and reaffirmed his trust in the squad: "Whoever steps in will perform well. I have confidence in everyone."

A clash of strategies

Historically, Milan is leading in this pair, but currently, there is also a place for surprises. Milan shouldn't commit typical defensive mistakes, press; Roma must be concrete in their finishing of the moments they will be offered by their opponents.
