The MLS is not yet having a Summer Transfer Window with huge movements compared to the market in Europe, but it is hoped that three clubs in particular can make transfers much more heated in the United States in the run-up to the opening of the MLS Cup playoffs in 2025.

Inter Miami

The team that will see the most changes during the transfer window is Inter Miami, due to the need to fit in with the salary cap. There are several players willing to take a pay cut to play alongside legends like Lionel Messi, and the most recent name to be linked with the club is Rodrigo de Paul, who would be ready to join the midfield in a 4-4-2 formation.

However, with Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets on DP contracts and already having to deal with as many players as possible with Targeted Allocation Money and U-22 Initiative spots, Miami will need to get creative to add de Paul or other high-level talents to the squad.

Charlotte FC

This team promised to be a big mover in the MLS as everything was pointing to a deal with Patrick Agyemang leading the attacking system and adding quality to the midfield. However, plans did not go according to plan and Agyemang was sold to Derby County, where he will play in the Premier League next season.

If Charlotte FC want to be more successful this season and hope to make the playoffs, they will need to have a considerable amount of money to spend after the sale, with Derby paying a minimum of US$8 million for the US men's national team striker.

Los Angeles FC

After French striker Olivier Giroud left the club after the Club World Cup, LA FC have two full DP places to fill before the summer transfer window. In other words, allowing them the chance to strengthen a squad that is already seen as strong for the MLS Cup playoffs.

Considering that coach Steve Cherundolo will leave the coaching staff after the end of the current season, the Los Angeles team will certainly be focusing on bringing in new stars and nurturing new talent with the long-term future of the club in mind.
