Nashville SC hosted another record-breaking evening at GEODIS Park, dominating Orlando City 5-1 in front of an energetic home attendance. The Boys in Gold became the first team to reach 50 points on the season, their 10th regular-season home win in a club record, and kept the Supporters' Shield competition alive in a big way. They are now four points behind Philadelphia Union, who are nicely sitting third.
The win wasn't just about numbers. It justified Nashville's hot run for the season and snapped Orlando's four-game winning streak, leaving the visitors with 47 points and plummeting to fourth.
First-half fireworks featuring Surridge and Mukhtar stole the show
The home side did not mess around. In a span of three minutes, forward Sam Surridge opened the scoring, demonstrating once again why he's been lethal all year. The second was in due course in the 16th minute when Hany Mukhtar finished off a pass by Josh Bauer, who picked up his first-ever MLS assist. Mukhtar had on the board by the 40th minute, this time off Jacob Shaffelburg.
But Nashville wasn't done. Two minutes afterward, Surridge had another, collecting his fifth 2025 multi-goal game. And then, just at halftime, Shaffelburg hit one of his own at the 43rd, Jeisson Palacios the build-up player doing the work. In 45 minutes, the match was practically over, Nashville up 4-0 and cruising.
Slowing the pace in the second half and another record falls
With so much padding, the hosts shifted into high gear. They dictated the tempo, stayed compact, and didn't give Orlando even a legitimate chance to stage a comeback. The Lions scored once, but it never appeared to be changing the narrative of the night.
Late in stoppage time, Nashville added one for good measure. Palacios curled away a finish in the 94th minute after a corner broke through Mukhtar and Bauer to complete the scoring.
The victory adds another piece to Nashville's impressive season. They now have 18 all-competition victories in 2025 matching the record they set way back in 2023 and showing that this team is chasing something bigger.
