Orlando City took down Inter Miami 4-1 at Inter&Co Stadium, finally grabbing their first win over the in-state rival this season. With the victory, the Lions moved up to fourth in the Eastern Conference on 44 points from 26 games, while the Herons slipped to sixth with 42.

The scoreline was impressive on its own, but Oscar Pareja’s squad also stretched their streak of scoring in every match to 19 straight across all competitions — a run that began after a scoreless draw with Chicago Fire back on May 3. Luis Muriel ran the show with two goals and an assist, and Martín Ojeda kept his incredible season rolling, hitting 17 goals and 17 assists in 2024.

Fast start and an even first half

Things got going right away. Barely two minutes in, Luis Muriel found the net for Orlando after Martín Ojeda threaded a pass into his path. It stood as the team’s fastest goal this year and marked Ojeda’s 14th consecutive match with a goal or assist, setting a club record. That early lead, though, didn’t stick around for long.

Just three minutes later, Bright leveled it for Inter Miami, smashing home a first-time volley for his first senior team goal. The tempo dipped after that hectic opening, but both sides still found moments to threaten. The best of them came for Inter in the 41st minute, when Segovia let fly from distance and forced a sharp stop from the keeper at the near post.

Orlando’s grip and clinical edge

After halftime, Orlando wasted no time taking control again. At 50 minutes, Muriel picked up the ball on the left, cut inside, and drove a low shot from outside the box into the corne, no chance for the goalkeeper. The Lions stayed on the front foot.

Eight minutes later, Ojeda got his goal, slotting home after a neat assist from Muriel. That strike was his 17th of the year and pushed his season total for combined goals and assists to 34, extending the single-season club record. Inter Miami kept pushing but couldn’t find a way through. In the 88th minute, Marco Pašalić took advantage of a gap in the defense and finished off the night with the fourth goal.
