Crystal Palace are unbeaten in six meetings with Millwall, their longest such streak since the '90s, knocking the Lions out of the FA Cup in both 2022 and March of this year.

Crystal Palace vs Millwall preview

These two South London rivals, located just seven miles apart, first met in 1921, with this set to be their 100th clash. So, will Crystal Palace prevail, as they did en route to FA Cup glory back in March, or will Millwall leave Selhurst Park victorious for the first time in 15 years?

Oliver Glasner's side are now unbeaten in 15 matches across all competitions, dating back to April. On Saturday, Crystal Palace were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Sunderland at Selhurst Park, mustering 14 shots, six of which were on target, while the Black Cats didn't manage a single attempt on target, but neither team could find the breakthrough.

This means the Eagles have drawn three of four Premier League fixtures to date, the other a memorable 3-0 victory at Villa Park before the international break. They've also reached the Conference League league phase, commencing that campaign against Dynamo Kyiv in Lublin next month. Now though, having already won the FA Cup and Community Shield this year, they've got a taste for silverware, so could this be the start of an historic EFL Cup campaign?

Millwall meantime have not been a top division team since 1990, with this their ninth successive campaign in the EFL Championship. On Saturday, the Lions faced their other fierce South London rivals, in which Raees Bangura-Williams' last minute goals salvaged a 1-1 draw with Charlton at the Valley. Alex Neil's team are therefore 13th in the table, having won two and lost two beforehand.

In the EFL Cup, the Lions have so far dumped out Newport County at Rodney Parade and then Coventry City at the Den, with Massimo Luongo and Kamarl Grant on target in the latter. Thus, victory here would see them reach the fourth round for the first time since all the way back in 2005. So, can Millwall cause an upset on Tuesday by defeating their fierce local rivals at Selhurst?
