After the defeat of the previous day against AC Milan, the team coached by Simone Inzaghi is called to a prompt reaction, as requested by their fans. The classic Neroazzurri starting pair formed by the French striker Marcus Thuram and the Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez started from the beginning of the attack.

The latter is called to a turning point in his season as he has not managed to score a single goal so far. As soon as the match started, about 40 seconds after the referee's whistle, Inter immediately created the opportunity to take the lead. It all started with a good verticalization by Matteo Darmian who thus rewarded the attack in depth of the Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi who outpaced his marker and took a dirty shot on which the opposing goalkeeper was guilty of being surprised by letting the ball pass him.

After the goal, the Neroazzurri continued to attack and create favorable opportunities without managing to find the second goal, indeed wasting them badly. After half an hour, the home team finally found a way to become dangerous, thus starting to worry the defense of the guests considerably.

So in the 35th minute, Kabasele scored, who with a good elevation touched the ball, crossed by his teammate, just enough to fool the goalkeeper Yann Sommer who could do nothing.

When it seemed that the first half could turn towards the conclusion with the result of parity, instead, at the last opportunity, Lautaro Martinez scored a mocking goal, who from close range converted into a goal the excellent pass executed by his teammate Federico Dimarco from the left flank of the field. With this goal, the Inter captain finally got going.

The Neroazzuri immediately scored at the start of the second half and yet they struggled to get the victory

Just as the first half had begun, in the second half the home team showed a lack of concentration that was immediately punished by the Neroazzurri. In fact, a long throw from defender Bastoni found his teammate Marcus Thuram who skillfully controlled the ball and immediately served his attacking teammate Lautaro Martinez who unleashed a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Okoye.

After this goal, Inter continued to attack their opponents in an advanced position, preventing an easy build-up of play and forcing them to make long throws that were difficult for the offensive players to manage, who were always well marked by the defenders of the current champions.

Only from the 60th minute onwards was Udinese able to re-establish the balance in terms of play. Presumably all of this was due to the increasing tiredness of the guests. From this moment on, Inter had two important opportunities to definitively close the match. First with Frattesi and then with Lautaro Martinez.

However, both of them wasted badly. After that, in the 83rd minute, Udinese found the net for 2-3 with their striker Lorenzo Lucca who resisted the tackle of his opponent and then shot favorably beating the opposing goalkeeper with a cross shot. The last few minutes were difficult and tense for the Neroazzurri who had to resist the siege of the home team. The team coached by Simone Inzaghi thus resisted until the final whistle, earning the three points in one of the most difficult stadiums of this Serie A.

So with this result Inter returned to victory after the bitter defeat against AC Milan while Udinese lost their second consecutive match, after the one against AS Roma, further slowing down their progress in the championship. With this victory Inter rose to 11 points in the standings together with AC Milan and Torino.
