LaLiga: Real Madrid glide to neat 2-0 win over Granada, reclaim top spot

Real Madrid have another easy day in La Liga
Real Madrid continued their impressive streak in La Liga with another convincing win against Granada CF. After a solid victory against Cadiz midweek, the Whites picked up another 3 points thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo.
Carlo Ancelotti's side asserted their dominance from the word go as they tried to breach the visitor's backline. Brahim Diaz opened the scoring after a perfectly placed pass from Toni Kroos, skillfully slotted home by the Spaniard. It was an excellent display of attacking football – cutting open the Granada defence with minimal effort.
Right before the end of the first half, Diaz almost set up Jude Bellingham with a neat pass only for the Englishman to fire wide of the right post.
Despite a slim 1-0 lead at halftime, Madrid were never convinced to sit back and protect their lead. A second goal was always in the making for the hosts and it took a thunderous shot from Rodrygo to double the lead. The Brazilian latched onto a rebound after Bellingham saw his side-footed shot blocked by the Granada goalkeeper.
Granada had very little hope of troubling the Merengues' defense as they looked out of ideas moving forward. There were instances of the visitors pressing high up on the pitch but still, they failed to trouble the Real Madrid backline. The visiting side failed to rattle the formidable Real Madrid No. 1, Andriy Lunin, leaving the Ukrainian goalkeeper a mere spectator in his half throughout – a testament to the impregnability of the Merengues' defense.
At the full-time whistle, Real Madrid were only disappointed to have not added a third tally – showcasing their hunger for goals even in a game that they dominated.
With this commanding victory, Los Blancos reclaimed top spot in the league standings, occupied briefly by Girona after their 2-1 win over Valencia earlier in the day. Ancelotti will be immensely pleased the performance and will now have his team focus on their next meeting against Real Betis.
