PSG dominate as Liverpool snatch late winner in Paris

A night of high tension at the Parc des Princes ended in heartbreak for PSG as Liverpool secured a dramatic late winner. The visitors, under constant pressure for most of the match, found their breakthrough in the 87th minute thanks to super-sub Harvey Elliott. Despite PSG’s relentless attacks and Alisson Becker’s heroics in goal, it was Liverpool’s tactical discipline and clinical finish that made the difference. With only one goal separating the sides, all eyes now turn to Anfield, where the battle is far from over.

Frustration for PSG

Pace and verticality is what PSG brings to the table thanks to the leg work of players like Barcola, Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia, who was electric while on the pitch and had a goal marginally disallowed during the first half.

The French team pressured the English side relentlessly throughout must of the match but where in accurate and ended up wasting some of he chances they were able to create.

Alisson Becker’s Heroics

Allison is the hero of the evening for “The Reds”. He rose to the occasion and made some crucial saves the keep a clean sheet against the Parisian team.

Mohammed Salah who’s been on fire thi season, was kept under lock-and-key by Portuguese left back Nuno Mende for the better part of a tense and physical match at the Parc des Princes. Salah was not the only one struggling. PSG as a whole submitted the visitors to adopt a defensive position, relying on long balls for the majority of the match.

Substitutes Save the Day

Arne Slot’s tactical savvy bore results as two of his subs in the form of Darwin Núñez, who demonstrated great hold-up play to assist 21-year old Harvey Elliott for the match’s only goal.

With a single goal separating them Luis Enrique and his men can still rally themselves into a comeback, but Liverpool are playing at home and wil have the full support of the home crowd behind them. It is still very much game on at Anfield next week.
