Seattle Sounders defeated Houston Dynamo 3-1 at Shell Energy Stadium and are still without a loss after five consecutive matches. The opening half saw goals from Danny Musovski, while Albert Rusnák, who scored two goals after the interval, bagged the match's other scores. The club now has four victories in five consecutive games with 13 out of a total of 15 points and its opponents scored just 12–3 against it during that run.

Musovski scores again and makes history

Musovski scored the opening goal and added his fifth consecutive game with a goal. He joined Obafemi Martins, Fredy Montero, and Raúl Ruidíaz as the fourth player in Seattle's history to record that achievement. The goal came in the 22nd minute on a Paul Rothrock cross. Musovski was isolated at the far post and headed it into the net.

Houston threatened early, just five minutes in, when Jack McGlynn fired from inside the box, but Stefan Frei made the save. Two minutes after Musovski’s goal, Ezequiel Ponce took a free kick that flew just wide, brushing the outside of the net. In the 32nd minute, McGlynn delivered another set piece, this time finding Femi Awodesu, who scored with a header.

In the 38th minute, Awodesu was also issued his marching orders for withholding a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The initial award was for a penalty, which was changed following VAR assessment to a foul outside the box. On the resulting free kick, Rusnák's effort was blocked by the wall and later saved by the keeper.

Rusnák provides two goals and increases the gap

It was only a minute into the second half, though, when Pedro de la Vega found Rusnák with a pass inside the box, and he cut first-time in with his left foot to bring Seattle level at 2-1. Ryan Kent beat on the left touchline in the 58th minute and produced a low cross that Rusnák tapped home for his second of the night.

Houston continued to press with a man down.McGlynn attempted a risky shot in the 52nd minute, and Ponce tried one in the 56th. Stefan Frei produced an important save on a Griffin Dorsey header at the 60-minute mark.

McGlynn shot a free kick to the far post in the 85th minute but Frei was there again. In the 87th minute, Georgi Minoungou created a good chance again for Seattle but keeper Jonathan Bond foiled the fourth goal.
