One of the most eagerly awaited UEFA Champions League finals in recent years ended with PSG's historic thrashing of Inter Milan. The French lifted their first trophy in the history of the continental tournament with a dominant 5-0 victory, in a game in which the Italians fell far short of their best performance of the season.
Even in the face of this terrible setback in Inter Milan's history, the management and the fans would have liked to keep coach Simone Inzhaghi for next season because of the return to prominence the team has enjoyed in Europe and especially in Italy with a very well-defined style of play. However, the coach was unable to cope with the historic defeat and will leave Inter.
The latest reports confirm that Inzaghi has agreed to leave Inter in the last few hours to become the new coach of Al-Hilal and coach the Saudi team during the Club World Cup. The Saudis have had a disappointing season without winning any major titles and lost the national championship to Al Ittihad.
Al-Hilal had been without a coach since they agreed to sack Jorge Jesus during the final stretch of the season in April. The Portuguese coach won a historic title in the Saudi Pro League in 2023/24, but was unable to repeat the same performance, as well as being largely responsible for Neymar's return to Brazilian soccer.
In addition, Jorge Jesus spent more than two months paying closer attention to what was happening in South America, with the possibility of taking over the Brazil National Team, which ended up signing a deal with Carlo Ancelotti after his definite departure from Real Madrid.
Simone Inzaghi will be sorely missed by Inter Milan

As mentioned earlier, Simone Inzaghi was instrumental in Inter's return to prominence with four successful spells, winning Serie A titles, two Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups. However, the title-less 2024/25 season weighed heavily on the coach's decision to end the cycle.
