Tottenham have won their only previous meeting with Danish opposition, beating AaB Fodbold 3-2 in November 2007.

In contrast, København have lost each of their last five visits to England, failing to win any of nine trips overall, losing seven.

Tottenham vs Copenhagen preview

Can Tottenham Hotspur address their miserable home form? On Saturday evening, Spurs were meekly beaten by fierce rivals Chelsea, the scoreline only 1-0, but they had just three shots, created zero big chances and ended the game with a miserly xG of 0.1. Thomas Frank's team were thereby booed off, having collected just a solitary point from four home matches against Bournemouth, Wolves, Aston Villa and now Chelsea.

Meantime, in the Champions League, Spurs do remain unbeaten, albeit somewhat miraculously. A fortnight ago, they held Monaco to a goalless draw at Stade Louis II with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario rightly named man of the match, making eight saves in the Principality. Before this, Tottenham narrowly beat Villarreal on matchday one, before fighting back from 2-0 down to draw with Bodø/Glimt in the Arctic Circle. This leaves them 15th in the gigantic league table and, with a trip to PSG next up on their fixture list, Spurs are under massive pressure to win this one.

As for København, their European campaign began in July, beating Driga, Øresund Bridge rivals Malmö and then Basel in qualifiers, thereby getting into the group stages of this competition for the seventh time. However, Jacob Neestrup's side currently have just one point on the board. On matchday one, they appeared set for a memorable victory over Bayer Leverkusen at Parken, only for a stoppage time own goal by Pantelis Chatzidiakos to ensure it ended all square.

Since then, the Lions have lost both 2-0 to Qarabağ in Bakı, before a 4-2 defeat when Borussia Dortmund visited the Danish capital two weeks ago. Considering they have to play Kairat, Villarreal, Napoli and Barcelona after this, securing a place in the knockout stages may be beyond them. So, can København spring a massive surprise in North London on Tuesday?

Tottenham team news

Thomas Frank remains without Radu Drăgușin, Ben Davies, Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kuluševski, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke, while Mathys Tel was not included in the UEFA squad.

Cristian Romero

However, in a boost, Cristian Romero came off the bench for the final half and hour on Saturday, his first appearance since 4 October, so he is like to displace Kevin Danso in defence.

After deploying a rather defensive midfield trio against Chelsea, Xavi Simons will surely return, with either Wilson Odobert or Brennan Johnson back in the team out-wide. Both Micky van de Ven and Richarlison would sit out the visit to Paris Saint-Germain later this month if booked.

Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup vs Copenhagen: (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, van de Ven, Romero, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur, Simons; Kudus, Johnson, Richarlison.

Striker Youssoufa Moukoko is the youngest-ever player to feature in the Champions League, doing so 18 days after his 16th birthday, likely to lead the line alongside captain Viktor Claesson. Defender Marcos López is one caution away from suspension.

Copenhagen predicted lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur: (4-4-2): Kotarski; Suzuki, Chatzidiakos, Garananga, López; Lerager, Clem, Larsson, Elyounoussi; Moukoko, Claesson.
