Tottenham have won ten of 16 Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, but failed to beat them last season, defeated 1-0 at Dean Court in December, before a 2-2 draw in North London in March. The Cherries' solitary victory in eight away games against Spurs came in April 2023.
Tottenham vs Bournemouth preview
Will this new-look Tottenham team collect another victory? Last weekend, Thomas Frank's team put in a masterclass as they defeated Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad, thanks to first half goals from Brennan Johnson and then João Palhinha. That makes it two wins out of two for Spurs in the Premier League, having also swatted aside Burnley 3-0 on the opening weekend.
When you also consider the UEFA Super Cup, coming agonisingly close to defeating Paris Saint-Germain in Udine, Tottenham have demonstrated a huge amount of tactical discipline and flexibility under Frank, something they were often lacking during Ange Postecoglou's reign. So, will the Spurs positivity continue as they seek to go top of the Premier League, for 24 hours at least?

As for Bournemouth, they got off the mark last weekend, defeating Wolves 1-0 at Dean Court. Marcus Tavernier's goal inside four minutes was enough to claim victory, with a red card shown to Toti shortly after half time quelling any hopes Wolves had of a comeback. However, that win aside, Andoni Iraola will surely be frustrated by his team's results thus far.
On the opening weekend, after Antoine Semenyo's sublime quick-fire brace, the Cherries appeared set to pinch a point at Anfield, only to concede twice late on. Then, in mid-week, Bournemouth were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Brentford, beaten 2-0 in Dorset, with Julián Araujo's stoppage time red card compounding a miserable evening. On their day, Iraola's team can compete with the best, but they'll have to be at their best to prevent Tottenham from making it three wins out of three.

Tottenham team news
Unlike their visitors, Spurs have had a full week to prepare for this one, with Thomas Frank's team facing a vstly difference challenge to that posed by Manchester City a week ago.

James Maddison and Dejan Kuluševski remain sidelined, so Lucas Bergvall could return, deployed as the number ten, as he was against Burnley a fortnight ago, Djed Spence will continue at left-back, in the absence of Destiny Udogie, while Dominic Solanke did come off the bench at the Etihad, so will he start, or will Richarlison's brace on the opening weekend so him keep his place?
Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup vs Bournemouth: (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, van de Ven, Romero, Spence; Palhinha, Matar Sarr, Bergvall; Kudus, Richarlison, Johnson.
Tottenham player to watch vs Bournemouth
Brennan Johnson has two in two in the Premier League so far this season, to add to the 18 goals he scored across all competitions last season, so will he be the match-winner again?
Bournemouth team news
Andoni Iraola made eight changes in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, so did any member of that team do enough to claim a starting spot here? Firstly, Julián Araujo's late red card against Brentford means he is suspended, so Spurs academy graduate Adam Smith will start at right-back.

Meantime, new signings Amine Adli and Ben Gannon Doak both started in mid-week, so will either keep their place for this one? Fit again Ryan Christie could partner Tyler Adams at the base of midfield, displacing Alex Scott.
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur: (4-3-3): Petrović, Smith, Senesi, Diakité, Truffert; Adams, Christie, Gannon Doak, Semenyo, Tavernier; Evanilson.
Bournemouth player to watch vs Tottenham
Antoine Semenyo scored twice on the season's opening Friday night against Liverpool, although he's never netted in four previous meetings with Tottenham, so can he change that in North London?
Tottenham vs Bournemouth prediction
We are backing in-form Tottenham for victory in this one. Bournemouth will be competitive, but we believe Spurs' attacking firepower will see them prevail: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Bournemouth.
