Nicolas Jackson could be on the transfer list as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Chelsea forward Jackson has been linked with Manchester United, who were offered the opportunity to begin negotiations for the player recently. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, the soccer journalist who has been known to reveal reliable transfer updates from the European mainland.

Chelsea is not quite on the transfer verge for Jackson, but the club negotiates willingly should the conditions allow. Right now, there is little we can say is set in stone, but his has been a name we should keenly watch over the coming weeks.

Chelsea expresses interest in making a trade

He is still in the Chelsea team. There has been no ouster on him but his opportunities in the season in no way are secured. The club believes he is indivisible and therefore there should still be ways for the adjustments. A transfer is on the cards if the perfect bid arrives and it balances the team.

Chelsea still lacks consistency at the center striking position. Offense still is coming into form, and Jackson still has not quite set a clear role. That in itself leaves the position open for potential movement in the case a similar option comes into the fold better suited towards the system.

Manchester United is brought into the picture at this juncture. The club has been searching for means through which it will bolster the front line since the ending of the previous season. That is where there was the lack in the team in the dimension of stability, depth there still is the lack. A new face in the area still needs to be there.

Jackson has to learn consistency

Jackson’s time at Chelsea has shown both promise and frustration. He’s scored some goals, found space in the final third, and helped push the team forward. But he’s also missed chances he should’ve taken and struggled to put together a consistent run of strong performances.

He has the potential. That is a fact. But the man who brings him in will have to wait for him. Why? Because he is still not complete. He is still settling in, still developing, and still nowhere near the level where he will perform week in and week out.

The remainder of the sash will hasten the process

Now the transfer window draws near a close, all the movement occurs in a hurry. Those players the club was considering at the time suddenly emerge as top targets in the event other transfer deals drag on or collapse. Jackson may be the guy.

Manchester United has kept others strikers in mind too, though all the discussions haven’t been on the bigger platform. With Jackson in the frame now, and Chelsea willing to negotiate, this may be a potential option in the future if other players become too costly.
