The US Women's national team faces off against Jamaica in their second friendlies match of the June international window. Coming off of a dominant 3-0 victory over China PR with goals from Cat Macario, Sam Coffey and Lindsey Heaps, the USWNT are looking for another win under former Chelsea coach Emma Hayes.

Celebrating a legend

USWNT legend Becky Sauerbrunn is honored tonight in St. Louis, Missouri. Sauerbrunn ended her career with 219 caps for the national team. The former captain announced her retirement from professional soccer back in December, and she will be celebrated before kickoff.

New captain, new starts

Current USWNT vice-captain Naomi Girma (finally and well deservedly) gets the captain's armband for today's game. This is something USWNT fans have been waiting years for! Lindsey Heaps in not in the starting lineup and Ally Sentnor and Claire Hutton start after coming off the bench against China. Also starting is Kerry Abello, who is getting her first start for the 2024 Olympic champions.

Ally to the rescue

Playing Jamaica isn't shaping up to be as easy as Emma Hayes' side thought it would be with a confident Jamaica side not backing down from the challenge against the number one team. The best chance for the US so far has come from a long shot from Alyssa Thompson, who has been exceptional this game with her quick pace. The deadlock is broken with Ally Sentnor scoring her third goal for the USWNT with an assist from Emily Fox. Sentnor gets her brace 10 minutes later right before the half hour mark. The Utah Royals forward has made the most of her short time in a US jersey.

Instant impact

The second half starts out much like the first, with the US completely dominating possession. Lindsey Heaps, Lynn Biyendolo, and Lo Labonta enter the game in a triple substitution. Lynn Biyendolo immediately makes her mark, scoring a beautiful goal with a shot following a USA corner.

A brace of braces

Biyendolo strikes again, getting her second goal off the bench in the 87th minute. The all-time NWSL goalscorer always comes in clutch off the bench. Avery Patterson also gets her first USWNT assist. With her and Sentnor's braces, the US is up 4-0 in a humiliating game for Jamaica.
