The dispute over the signing of Viktor Gyökeres took on new dramatic contours after Sporting decided to raise the minimum amount demanded to sign the Swedish striker, leaving Arsenal very uncomfortable with the first offer of 65 million euros turned down. In the midst of the chaos, Manchester United tried to make progress in negotiations in the final hours, but the Red Devils ended up with a very disappointing final response.

According to various reports in Europe, the 27-year-old striker's managers have contacted Manchester United stating that Viktor Gyökeres has no interest in moving to Rúben Amorim's club. In other words, one of the most prized names on the transfer market decided not to even listen to the offer United were preparing to sign him.

This decision was yet another chapter in the fight to sign Viktor Gyökeres after Sporting broke their promise to release the Swedish striker for 60 million euros, demanding at least 80 million euros. The striker, who has scored 97 goals in 102 games for the reigning champions of the Portuguese League and Portuguese Cup, is prioritizing negotiations with Arsenal, making Manchester United have other priorities in the transfer market.

Unable to count on Viktor Gyökeres, Manchester United have decided to go all out to try and sign Victor Osimhen, who is in negotiations to stay at Galatasaray. One of Turkey's top scorers this season has left Napoli on a loan deal and is looking for a new club to sign him permanently, as Simone Inzaghi's side have no plans to sign the Belgian for the 2025/26 season.

The arrival of an excellent finisher like Osimhen would be sensational for Rúben Amorim's side to improve considerably in attack. However, the fact that Manchester United won't be playing in any European competitions next season could be a decisive factor in the Belgian not agreeing to sign for the Red Devils.
