3. Madison

The last of three cities up for consideration, is the beloved capital of Wisconsin, Madison. Similar to Green Bay, the Wisconsin Badgers run the city. The Badgers have a successful men’s soccer program at the Division one level, even sending one player, A.J. Cochran, to the Philadelphia Union in the 2014 MLS Super Draft.

Aside from the University of Wisconsin, there is nothing else in Madison to compete with. A new MLS expansion franchise brings new life to the city and a large viewing market, with the college in the same city.

Of the three options, Madison is the least likely to land a MLS expansion team, but it is a quality back-up to consider.
