2. The Gold Cup is Gonna Be Tough This Year…

Jurgen’s likely to field a team for the Gold Cup this season featuring a lot of the newcomers we saw today.  While they are still in the process of gelling together as a unit, the squad looks fragmented, inconsistent, immature, and to be honest, just plain bad.  Meanwhile the rest of CONCACAF is starting to step up their game.  Mexico and Costa Rica are both riding post-World Cup highs while the USMNT is in a hangover.  Dark Horses such as Panama, Jamaica, Honduras, and Canada are all slowly getting better as well, meaning that for the first time in its existence, the Gold Cup may actually be anybody’s ballgame.  Bad news for a team who’s used to breezing through to the finals.
