New York Red Bulls Trade for First Allocation Spot
Soccer by Ives is reporting that the New York Red Bulls and Montreal Impact have made a major trade with the Red Bulls acquiring the first spot in the allocation order. http://www.sbisoccer.com/2015/01/felipe-player-impact.html In the trade the Red Bulls get Felipe and the number one spot in allocation from Montreal for Eric Alexander, Ambroise Oyongo and an international spot.
With this move, Red Bull is now looking to bring in Sacha Kljestan to pair with Felipe and Dax McCarty in the midfield. Filipe played for Jesse Marsch when he was the manager at Montreal. With the move, the Red Bulls are rebuilding a team that came just one goal away from making it to last years MLS Cup.

Rumors have it that Red Bull already have an agreement with Kljestan and are just waiting for final approval to announce the singing. This is a recurring trend this year as yet another former or current USMNT player has returned to MLS. Now the question is he coming back as a DP? If he is surly it will be for less that Thierry Henry made as Red Bull are spending less and trying to introduce more youth into their team.
With the trade the Red Bulls have traded promising 23-year-old Cameroon international Ambroise Oyongo. This was what they had to say about him on the Montreal Impact website.
"“It’s a trade that helps improve our current roster by adding two quality players, while the allocation money and international spot gives us more flexibility within the salary cap and our roster” said Impact technical director Adam Braz. “The decision to move Felipe was not easy as he`s been with the club since the beginning in MLS. We`d like to thank him for his time with the club over the last few years and we wish him the best of luck in the future.”"
Oyongo, 23, amassed three assists in 13 games played, including 11 starts, in his first season in MLS in 2014. He also appeared as a substitute in the first three playoff games, assisted Wright-Phillip’s 90th minute winner in the knockout round win over Sporting KC. He then started and played a full 90 in both legs of the Eastern Conference Championship against New England. He also took part in three CONCACAF Champions League matches.
