So technically Earnie is only on trial with the Whitecaps, but if his last 2 MLS campaigns have taught us anything, he definitely deserves a spot on a roster.  While only capping 5 times for the Chicago Fire last year, 4 times as a sub, the 5’10 Earnshaw netted thrice.  Twice off headers, and one off a marvelous chip over the head of the aforementioned keeper, Rais M’Bolhi.  He and Florent Sinama-Pongolle were both cut at the end of the season to make room for younger talent, but Earnshaw’s time in Chicago was well spent.  Before that, he played well for Toronto FC (8 goals in 26 appearances) but was cut to make room for another UK striker; Jermain Defoe.  Yep, that worked out well for everybody involved.
