So if you weren’t made aware, February 14th is Valentine’s Day. The whole weekend is spent by couples enjoying being with each other. It’s also that day….the day where we buy things for people who they’ll never use again as a symbol of our affection. And as always, I’m spending it….well, here with you; Writing articles in pajamas at 2 in the afternoon and drinking cold coffee seem to be a common occurrence for my Valentine’s Day year after year.

Lucky for me, and lucky for anyone else in the same singleness boat, Valentine’s Day has been saved once again by MLS.com’s #SoccerGram competition. All around this great nation (and Canada too), soccer lovers have been flooding the twittersphere (and Facebook too) with clever soccer-themed Valentine’s Day puns, revolving mostly around MLS and USMNT players and coaches.
Below is one soccer gram I came up with.

Here are a few of our favorites below.
First off, we have a Jermaine Jones-themed card from MLS.com’s newest on-screen personality, Rachel Bonnetta.
Simple and to the point. Just the way we like it. Next up, the new kids on the block, New York City FC, went with a classic in this card featuring the one and only Jeb Brovsky.
Not bad. Not bad at all. Next, we have MLS fan Alissa C making quick work of the New England Revolution’s Lee Nguyen with this gem:
On deck, we have Philadelphia Union. You better hide your cake, cuz they may have just taken it.
Not to be outdone, MLS itself chipped in as well with this little piece of brilliance, courtesy Obafemi Martins
I’m liking where this is going. Last up, we have a post from Chicago Fire’s supporter group Section 8. And this may win just based on how many around the league can relate.
We couldn’t leave out this Timbers related soccergram
