Enrique will allow Pedro exit

Guardian Football report that Pedro will meet Luis Enrique this week, with Enrique expected to allow the winger to leave the club. Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay his £21.4m release clause, to bring the attacker to the Premier League.

Pedro signed a contract extension through to 2019 in June but admitted earlier this week that Barça had received inquiries as to his availability this summer with Luis Enrique, while hopeful of retaining the player, powerless to stop him leaving if a sufficient bid is received.

The buyout clause had been dramatically lowered in the 27-year-old’s new deal, from £106m to the current figure, which has effectively opened the door to a move. No final decision will be made until 18 July when Barcelona’s presidential elections will take place with Ramon Adell’s current board now blocked from sanctioning transfers, both incoming and outgoing, from the club.

Arsenal target suffers injury blow

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal target William Carvalho has suffered stress fracture in his tibia, leaving him out for three months, resulting in his possible transfer to Arsenal in jeopardy. The 23-year-old played a major role in Portugal’s route to the Under 21 European Championship final, where he was named player of the tournament following his fine performances in the Czech Republic.
Manchester United have previously shown an interest in the Portugal international, however they switched their attention to fellow central midfielders Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United were among 122 sides who sent scouts to the tournament to keep tabs on prospective transfer targets at the Under 21 European Championship.
Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon revealed on their official Twitter account that Carvalho would be out for between 10 to 12 weeks.

Carvalho is said to have a release clause of around £25million inserted into his current contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
