Playing for 90’s transfer gossip column brings you all the latest news and rumours of ins and outs from the Premier League and abroad, including news on the future of Everton’s replacement for John Stones.

Everton target South American defender

Reports suggest that agreed an £8m deal to sign River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori. Mori, 24, was expected to join the Toffees last week in an £8m deal, but the Echo claim that fee is much lower – closer to £5m, with Everton ready to complete the deal before deadline day.

The centre-half boasts one cap for Argentina but is included in the national team to face Bolivia and Mexico in friendlies next month. He helped River Plate win the Copa Libertadores this season but now appears set to head to Europe.

Everton are said to be keen on the ace as they prepare to receive another bid from Chelsea for John Stones. Goodison Park bosses have so far rejected three bids for Stones, with Chelsea hearing their latest £30m offer is around £10m short of Everton’s valuation.

Cuadrado to make way for Pedro

The Express report that Juan Cuadrado could be out the door at Chelsea, in order to make room for Pedro Rodriguez, who’s arrival at Chelsea is imminent. The Colombia winger is wanted by Juventus after a disappointing six months in west London.

Cuadrado impressed at the World Cup last summer but since joining Chelsea has struggled to impose himself.

Galatasaray reject Hammers bid for Burak Yilmaz

The London Evening Standard report that West Ham have had a bid for striker Burak Yilmaz rejected by Galatasaray. Slaven Bilic’s side are eager to reinforce their attacking options with Enner Valencia having joined Andy Carroll on the sidelines.

The Ecuadorian striker is expected to be unavailable until December after suffering a serious injury to his knee and ankle. The Irons have been linked with Javier Hernandez and Charlie Austin but, having decided against matching Emmanuel Adebayor’s wage demands, have turned their attention to the 30-year-old forward.

Galatasaray rejected West Ham’s bid for the Turkish international, confirming in a statement: “West Ham United offered us €5m [£3.5m] for Burak Yilmaz.

“But our player didn’t demand leaving and also our club has no thought of selling him.”

Bolasie ‘foolish’ to rule out Spurs move

Alan Pardew believes Yannick Bolasie would be foolish to rule out a proposed move to Spurs. Crystal Palace have slapped a £20million price tag on the winger amid interest from their Premier League rivals.

Bolasie hinted this week that it could be the right time to leave Selhurst Park. And boss Pardew has no problem with the Congo international keeping his options open.

He said: “Yannick is a player who will be linked with other clubs all the time because he is an exciting player.

“If any of my players get linked with bigger clubs I would not expect them to (rule out leaving). It would be a foolish move.

“Players move a lot in the current world of football, they do not stay at clubs for five to seven years.

“You have to keep your options open and I have got no problem with that. But the option at the moment is Crystal Palace.
