Spurs Deal Forward Deal

The Daily Mirror report that Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of South Korean international Son Heung-Min from Bayer Leverkusen. The 23-year-old joins Spurs on a five-year deal for a £22million fee, subject to a work permit and international clearance.

Son joins Mauricio Pochettino’s men following a successful seven-year spell in Germany, having spent two years with Bayer following a five-year stint with Hamburg.

“I’m looking forward to going there and performing for the Spurs fans as soon as possible,” he told Spurs official website.

“The support I get from the fans motivates me more and more.

“I’m a player who really loves football. I learned the game under my father who was a football coach in my school.

“I’ve trained with both feet so I can use them freely. Bold and daring – this is how I like to try to play.”

City to Pay ‘Astonishing’ Fee for De Bruyne

Wolfsburg have claimed that Kevin De Bruyne has received an “astonishing, astonishing” offer to join Manchester City, via the Daily Telegraph. The fee for the midfielder is expected to rise to between £55 million and £57  million – close to a British record – with add-ons.

The financial details of the transfer are understood to have now been agreed with De Bruyne, who is expected to fly to England as early as Friday for a medical. Klaus Allofs, the Wolfsburg general manager, revealed that the transfer was close to being concluded after a breakthrough in negotiations on Thursday afternoon.

“During the day, we have gone on with negotiations and we’ve got closer to each other. But the deal is not done. So, hopefully, we will find an end tonight or tomorrow morning,” Allofs said after the Champions League draw in Monaco where his club was drawn in the same group as Manchester United.

Man United Won’t Get Griezmann

The France international was reportedly transfer target No1 for Louis van Gaal following the shock Pedro deal to Chelsea. And the Daily Mail claimed that the Red Devils could make a £57million bid to secure the 24-year-old’s services.

However, according to La Liga expert Guillem Balague, Atletico Madrid will not be selling their star man anytime soon.

He told Sky Sports: “Neither Atletico Madrid nor Griezmann expect any offer arriving in the next few days and Atletico have no intention whatsoever to let him go.”

In a bid to ward off interest in Griezmann this season, Atletico increased the Frenchman’s buy-out clause from £43m to £56m. However, they may struggle to hold onto him for long if he can match his impressive goal tally from last season, bagging 22 goals in 37 La Liga games.

Berahino Deal Not Dead

Tony Pulis has still not ruled out losing Saido Berahino this transfer window despite West Bromwich Albion chairman Jeremy Peace insisting the striker will not be sold, report the Daily Mail.  The West Brom head coach is waiting until the deadline passes on Tuesday at 6pm before being satisfied the 22-year-old is remaining at the Hawthorns.

Tottenham Hotspur have made two bids, the second worth up to £21million with add-ons, and Berahino has handed in a transfer request. But Peace took the unusual step of publishing a statement vowing the England Under 21 international would not leave and criticising Spurs for their approach.

Peace said he had instructed Berahino as such during talks on Thursday.

The north London club have seen two bids – the first of £18m – turned down by West Brom in the last two weeks and the chairman has told Berahino to put it behind him because he will not be allowed to leave.

But Pulis struck a different chord. ‘I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see,’ he said when asked if he could be assured Berahino would be a part of his squad this season.

‘I wasn’t in the discussions with Saido and haven’t seen him since. I’ll have a chat with him. I’ll never say never until it’s closed and factual. I can’t answer for the chairman. If he has said that then he has said that.’
