Messi, Neymar, Suarez: The best ever?
By Jake Cole
Throughout my time following football I have seen some fantastic players that have been unstoppable and the likes of Pele, Maradona, Bobby Charlton and Johan Cruyff have all been as brilliant before them, but could Messi, Neymar and Suarez be the best ever?
I have seen the likes of Ronaldo and Ronaldinho dominate world football and their Brazil team conquer the world in 2002. However, Barcelona could have three of the best players ever in their team at one time, Messi, Neymar and Suarez are arguably the best three footballers around right now and are embedded in one of the greatest teams in world football.
Some of their goal stats are just incredible, the majority of Barcelona’s goals this season have come from the three of them and they have all been in outstanding form. Messi in his career has scored 298 goals for Barcelona in the league in 331 games, this just proves he is probably the world’s greatest ever player.
Neymar’s scoring record also looks great for club and country, at the age of just 23 and yet to hit his prime, Neymar has scored 46 goals in 69 appearances for Brazil and is also the captain of his country. Since his big money move to Barcelona he has netted 47 times in 77 league games, averaging a goal every other game. Luis Suarez has scored 35 times in his 47 league games for Barcelona, just proves he was worth every penny they spent, despite the doubters.

MSN, as they are known as, scored a mammoth 125 goals in the whole of 2015, more than some teams managed between them for the calendar year. It is safe to say they had an outstanding year as they also won the treble. Messi & Neymar were rewarded for their outstanding performances and goals by being named in the final three shortlisted for the Ballon D’or, which Messi eventually won. However, many football fans across the world were furious at the exclusion of Suarez from this final three as Ronaldo was selected instead. Many people failed to believe it was due to Ronaldo having a better year, they feel that Suarez’s reputation went before him in this case. This is such a shame for one of the best strikers in the world right now.
This Barcelona team is being compared with some of the best squads ever to play the game, quite rightly too. They have been phenomenal through the last two seasons and that is mostly down to MSN being more than consistent and lighting up the world with their talent. Barcelona could yet win another treble this year and Messi, Neymar and Suarez could be at the front of it all yet again.

The South American attackers are without doubt the best trio in world football at this very moment, but are they the best ever? They won the treble in there first season together despite Suarez missing the first few months of the season. They are all in their prime or before their prime and could dominate for years to come if they stay together. If that happens, they will prove they are the best ever.
