1. Benoit Assou-Ekotto

Some Tottenham fans will disagree of my assessment of Benny because he was a part of some really fun teams under Harry Redknapp. I can respect that opinion, but it does make you wrong. Assou-Ekotto is one of the worst professional to ever steal money from Tottenham.

The flaky left-back often flaunted his belief that football was just a job and wasn’t his real passion. That sort of attitude was never going to fly at Tottenham under Pochettino. In truth, his Spurs career ended before the Argentine even took over.

More from Premier League

He was banished under Andre Villas-Boas for his lack of dedication to the game and the club itself. Perhaps if Assou-Ekotto had spent more time working on his game as opposed to liking lewd images of women on the Internet, he would have been better off. If the latter was a sport, he would have been the best to ever play the game.

He was so deplorable that Tottenham couldn’t even manage to give him away. He was banished from White Hart Lane and it was widely known that if any team was willing to pay his wages they’d let him leave. Sadly for Spurs, no such team came forward.

Currently Assou-Ekotto is showing up on a regular basis for St. Etienne in Ligue One. I’m sure their squad is buoyed by his spirit of determination and devotion to the game he loves. Suffice it to say, I’m glad he is no longer a Spurs player.
