5. Domingos Quina

Juan Mata can’t patrol the Manchester United midfield forever, so it stands to reason that the Red Devils should be in the market for a goal scoring midfielder. Portuguese starlet Domingos Quina may be just the player they are looking for.

More from Premier League

The 16-year-old starlet has spent most of his youth at Chelsea, but the Mirror reports that he sees a clearer path towards first team football at Old Trafford than he can envision at Stamford Bridge. This is exactly the type of player that van Gaal described when he spoke of youngsters choosing United due to his youth policy.

Acquiring the Portuguese U17 star would require a healthy bid from United, but it’s the type of move they need to make in order to rebuild their youth system. Stealing Quina away from Chelsea would just be icing on the cake for Ed Woodward and company.

Quina might not be ready to impact the Premier League next season, but United will have to take a longer view to that if they are really going to make their Academy system great again. Look for them to start that process with several high-profile youth purchases and Quina would certainly fit the bill.
