Step 4: Sell Loic Remy

The Frenchman’s time at Chelsea needs to come to an end. He won a title, scored a few meaningful goals last season and now he needs to depart. He must be sold this summer.

The 29-year-old is too inconsistent and he’s too big of an injury risk for what he’s worth. People point to his lack of playing time, but this can’t be an excuse. Granted consistency can help build form, but consistency isn’t guaranteed in a top team (yes Chelsea still counts as a top team). One needs to produce to earn further chances, in order to earn a consistent place.

In the time that Remy should use to prove his worth, he spends it on the training table, or drifting around in an offsides position.

Neither of these options are valuable to Chelsea and it’s time that the Blues cut ties with him. It’ll be mutually beneficial for both sides. The French striker can seek playing time at a midlevel Premier League side or perhaps in France. And the Blues can reinvest in a backup striker who will produce. It’s a win-win, but the time has come to cut the cord.

Thank him for his contribution and make sure he avoids the door on the way out.
