Here are five things to look for as Bayern Munich take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

After a nervy second leg finish against Benfica in the Round of 16, Bayern Munich are now on to the Champions League semi-finals. After only a 1-0 finish in the first leg, Benfica struck with an equalizer in the opening 30 minutes before a goal by Arturo Vidal essentially killed off the tie for good.

More from Champions League

The Bavarian giants have reeled off three straight wins in the Bundesliga after the game in Portugal with their most recent being a 2-0 win against Herta Berlin. They also haven’t allowed a goal since the Benfica game as Bayern Munich remain seven points above second place Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table. The treble is a real possibility for Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile Atletico stay in the hunt for a Spanish-European double as they upset favorites Barcelona in the Round of 16. Thanks to an away goal by Fernando Torres in the first leg, Atletico were able to use that momentum to win the second leg 2-0 and stun the Catalans. They are also flying high in La Liga as they are tied with Barcelona on points and are only behind the Catalans on a tiebreaker in the La Liga table. If the Catalans slip up in La Liga, it could be Atletico that take the title from them again.
